Spinning Babies
Kirra is a trained Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner.
She works with the soft tissues of the pelvis and its supporting structures to restore balance in the body. Pain often signals an imbalance in this area, where tightness, twisting, or tension in the ligaments, muscles, or fascia can limit the space available for your baby in the womb. Unborn babies naturally move to the path of freedom, which can lead to a suboptimal position as labor begins.
Body balancing uses gentle, hands-on techniques, typically performed over loose clothing, to release tension and create more space in the pelvis. This helps optimise your baby’s position for labor and birth.
You would especially benefit from pelvic balancing if:
You have a breech baby on board after 30-34 weeks. Women at a later gestation will still benefit from this work but if the intention is for the baby to turn head down then this work is better started sooner rather than later. For breech mothers there is a breech protocol to follow for 48 hrs- so be prepared to leave with homework!
If you have have been booked in for an ECV (External Cephalic Version) and wish to create more space aiding an easier, more successful rotation
If your baby is transverse, oblique, or posterior
You are experiencing pain/discomfort in your pelvis, sciatica or lower back pain
“In this time of disconnect with our bodies I believe it’s so important to get curious, ask your baby and body what it is telling you and what it needs.” Kirra
